HM King Mohammed VI chaired, on Monday at the Meshuar square in the Casablanca Royal Palace, the official welcome ceremony for President of the Rwandan Republic, HE Paul Kagame.
Upon his arrival at the Meshuar square, the Rwandan president was welcomed by HM the King, who was accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.
The Sovereign and President Paul Kagame joined the VIP stand to salute the flags while the national anthems of both countries were playing. A 21-gun salute was fired to welcome the Rwandan Head of State.
HM King Mohammed VI and His illustrious guest subsequently reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard who made the honors before President Paul Kagame was greeted by the Head of Government, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the House of Councilors, HM the King’s Advisors, cabinet members and several civil and military figures.
Afterwards, HM the King was greeted by the members of the delegation accompanying the President of the Republic of Rwanda.
President Paul Kagame was then greeted by members of the honorary committee, notably Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Abdelilah Benryane, Ambassador of Morocco to Rwanda with residence in Nairobi.
