Interview with the Serbian Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour, responsible for immigration issues

While Greece is sinking from the continuous flows of refugees and immigrants, due to the lack of political will of Greek and European governments, countries belonging to the so-called “Balcan route” have started to rise fences, confining thousands of people. One of them, Serbia, finds itself at the centre of this trajectory and last night, it decided to impose the same measures as Serbia and FYROM had done in this matter, in order to block the entrance of refugees on their soil.

Mr Nenad Ivanisevic, Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour, Occupation and Social Issues, vice-president of the task group for resolving the mixed immigration flows in the Serbian Republic, talked to iTimes and journalist, Giorgos Fokianos, explaining the Serbian policy on the issue. One that is filled with contradictions, as it seems to be standing firm against the closing of the borders and unilateral actions, but at the end it is refuted by the results.
