Casein was detected in biscuits sold in JUMBO toys stores

The Greek Food Standards Agency (EFET) informed via the Early Warning System for Food and Feed (RASFF) on the movement of chocolate biscuits, in which the presence of milk ingredient (casein) was detected. This substance, however, was not indicated on the product label.

Casein is a component that can cause health problems to people who are allergic or intolerant to milk and its components.

The products bear the trademark «Disney chokolate chip cookies», origin Denmark, in a metal can of 150g each, with barcode numbers 5776879010963, 5776879013735 and with various expiry dates. These products are manufactured by the Danish company «Jacobsens Bakery Ltd.» and handled in Greece by the company «JUMBO A.E.E.».

The Agency called for the immediate revocation / withdrawal of the product and relevant controls are already in progress. Consumers who have purchased these products and are allergic to milk and its components are invited not to consume them.
